The parts that I didn't like was the information overload about the Japanese war as well as the unresolved questions I had towards the end (classic Murakami). There were parts that are very WEIRD and very graphic by the way. The people he meets along the way are very diverse. If there's one thing that I share something with Toru Okada (the main character), it is his confusion as to what is really happening in the course of the novel. They are all interesting in their own way and how they play a part in the storyline. I have to say that I really like how Murakami has his set of characters very specified to the minute detail. Nonetheless, the Wind-up Bird Chronicle really had me turning the page not knowing what will happen next and I really liked that aspect. I wasn't fully satisfied upon finishing this one compared to Kafka on the Shore which I absolutely loved. If there's one thing I'm sure among all of the dreamlike scenarios that Murakami has created in this novel, it's that readers would be taken on a really adventurous ride from start to finish.
